The Wall competition followed the live eviction episode, in which Lyric Medeiros was evicted by a vote of 8-3 over Melody Morris, after Drew Campbell won the BB Block Buster competition. Head of Household (HOH) Haley Thogmartin and her allies, Kamu Kirk and Chuk Anyanwu were blindsided by the vote, as Kamu, Chuk, and Yash Patel voted out Melody, thinking that was the house’s plan.

The Big Brother 28 live feeds revealed that the week 5 HOH winner is LaTrice Verrett, also known as Lala. When the feeds returned, Angela had already fallen from the Wall. She was followed by Taylor Brown, Barrett Pfeiffer, Rick Devens, Dee Valladares, Melody Morris, Mallory Aurichio, Chuk Anyanwu, Yash Patel, Drew Campbell, in that order. After about an hour and a half, the Final 2 houseguests remaining on the Wall were Kamu Kirk and LaTrice Verrett, and then the feeds were turned off. When they returned, LaTrice was wearing the HOH key around her neck and crying tears of joy.

The Wall competition was hosted by Haley, who was ineligible to play as the outgoing HOH. It appeared to have a camp theme. The houseguests were soaked with freezing rain and sprayed various colors of slime due to Bigfoot roaming in the backyard. As the houseguests held on to handles over their heads, the Wall tilted forward.

LaTrice Verrett Makes History As Oldest Big Brother Houseguest Ever To Win The Wall Competition

At age 58, LaTrice has made history as the oldest Big Brother houseguest ever to win the Wall competition. Before LaTrice, the oldest Wall competition winner was Jason Dent, who was 38 years old when he conquered the Wall in Big Brother 19.

LaTrice is also the fourth-oldest houseguest ever to play the game, behind only 75-year-old Jerry MacDonald (Big Brother 10), 63-year-old Felicia Cannon (Big Brother 25), and 58-year-old Jack Owens Jr. (Big Brother 4). LaTrice was 57 when she entered the Big Brother 28 house, and turned 58 on July 14th.

Who Will Big Brother 28 Week 5 HOH LaTrice Verrett Nominate For Eviction?

LaTrice is the first HOH who’s not a member of the Red Corner alliance (Dee, Devens, Kamu, Haley, and Chuk), and she can finally end their steamroll of the season. LaTrice is in an alliance called The Honor Society with Taylor, Angela, and Dee, so it’s unlikely that she’d nominate them for eviction. As part of the underdog side of the house, it’s unlikely that she’d target Mallory, Melody, or Yash, who’ve been consistently targeted along with LaTrice since week 1. Barrett is also an unlikely nominee for LaTrice.

LaTrice is more likely to nominate dominant players such as Haley, Chuk, Kamu, and Devens, although Devens will be able to save himself with his secret Diamond Power of Veto. However, Angela might convince LaTrice to go after Drew because she doesn’t trust him. Although Kamu nominated LaTrice for eviction when he was HOH in week 3, it’s possible that, when the feeds were turned off, they might’ve made a deal for her to keep him safe because they were the last two houseguests remaining in the Wall competition. Fans will have to wait for Big Brother’s Sunday episode to know what happened in the final moments of the Wall competition.

No matter who LaTrice nominates for eviction, her HOH win will go down in Big Brother history because of her achievement of being the oldest Wall competition winner ever. LaTrice’s performance in the Wall competition was thrilling, as she defeated houseguests in their 20s and 30s. She was locked in throughout the competition, and it was her time to shine. LaTrice has proven that she’s a force to be reckoned with in Big Brother 28, and she’s an absolute inspiration.
